Hi everyone, just wanted a little feedback from members.
I want to move from Sky's basic broadband to Vodafone's Fibre 38. I see a lot of horror stories on Facebook about Vodafone's customer service etc but never many positives. Of course people usually love to complain but when it comes to praising a service, they don't bother, therefore there's only ever negativity.
Just want some feedback really, on the Fibre 38 package itself and are the customer service really as bad as everyone makes out? lol
Also, I don't want to be without internet for any amount of time as I need it for work. If I order Vodafone, will it cut off my Sky before the activation date or will it just switch over all at once? I know in the past it's just switched over flawlessly but when I asked the live help team a few moments ago, they were pretty useless.
Any help appreciated.

Hi
Have you checked via Vodafones what the expected download and upload speeds could be ?
As you say it's more of a case of a person being frustrated and upset and rightly so in many cases that they'll sign up to forums and social media to raise their concerns. It's not very often a person follows the same signal up process to praise.
I'm not with their broadband but I've never had an issue with my payg services.
Vodafone would arrange the switch and make it as seamless as possible. If you want to retain any current Landline number then ensure you opt to do that.
I would suggest speaking with....

Hi @GemKni
Vodafone has team dedicated to supporting its home broadband product so you shouldn't ever find yourself being passed around departments, something that leads to a lot of the complaints we receive on the forum.
If you head over to https://www.vodafone.co.uk/broadband/deals and pop in your postcode it will tell you what products are available to you and what sort of speeds you can expect to get over the Vodafone network.
Once you are ready to switch give the broadband team a call on 08080 034 511 alternatively you can visit your nearest Vodafone store who should be able to help you out as well.
More information about switching to Vodafone Broadband can be found here https://www.vodafone.co.uk/broadband/switch

Thanks for the replies, much appreciated.
I've actually tried to order, the customer service guy that I was talking to was really polite and helpful. I'm actually waiting for a call back from him at the moment as have run into a strange issue.
He said his system couldn't go through with the order because my current provider (Sky) has unsupported items on the line or account. I had to call Sky and ask them to remove them but Sky have said there is nothing there to remove and they have no idea what it means so now just waiting on a call back so I can tell Vodafone, so I'm pretty much at a loss now, probably won't be able to switch.

Oh.. that's an odd one...
I guess the Vodafone advisor is unable to tell you what they are?
You do always have the option of option for a new line. At the moment it's showing as an extra £30 fee and it does mean you'd get a new landline number though so it might not be an option if you need to retain your old number for whatever reason.

Yeah, he just said 'unsupported items'.
I don't necessarily need my number as I don't even have a phone plugged in, I just wanted to try avoid the extra cost lol
Hopefully when he calls back, he may have a solution. It's very weird though.

Fair enough @GemKni, we all want to avoid paying more than we have to 😉
Have a chat and see if there is anything the advisor is able to do with the engineer cost.
Unfortunately, if Sky has added something to your line you'll probably have the same issue trying to switch to any provider... I'm intrigued as to what it may be though!

Yeah, I'll have to see what he says and take it from there.
I am too, especially as they said there's nothing there to be removed.
I'll definitely report back here if I ever find out.
Thanks for all the help.

Just a quick update...
I didn't get my call back so I just ended up calling Vodafone back myself, luckily everything was in my notes I didn't have to explain things again. The Vodafone guy then tried placing the order again and it worked so looks like when I called Sky, they lied about their being nothing they could remove in order for me to go elsewhere.
Apparently the Vodafone guy said they've done the same to him in the past, and for him it was a text service. Not sure what they had on mine but all sorted and I have my switch over date of Feb 16 so fingers crossed everything goes smoothly.
Overall, I'm very happy with the customer service I recieved today from Vodafone and look forward to finally having fibre.
