I moved to Vodafone nearly 2 months ago on a Sim only package. When I put in the sim card to my BB Bold, my emails have stopped coming through and issues with using Facebook, though I could browse successfully. I contacted Vodafone to check if I am on an appropriate tarrif and was told that no problem with the tarrif. I was suspicious as the error message when using Facebook was that I needed to contact network provider. When I try to get to my emails to sync, the error message says that my device had a problem connecting to the server. After more calls to Vodafone, they advised that the BB services was not switched on at their end. They did this about 3 weeks ago now but still not worked. I called again yesterday and they re-set it just to see if the system gets a kick-start and again I have to wait 24 hours. Don't think this will fix it though.
Can anybody help? Vodafone advised me on my calls to them that I do not have to do anything with my handset. They guy at the Vodafone shop could not help me as he was not BB savvy. He even suggested that as I could browse, I can access my hotmail accounts that way. Who does that these days!?!
Nearly 2 months of this nonesense and it has gotten so frustrating!

It's quite simple to tell really. You need BIS active on your account.
At the top of the phone where it says either 3G or GPRS is it in upper or lower case?
If it's in upper case BIS is running and if lower case it isn't and that's the problem.

Thank you for this.
At the top it jus says 3G and no GPRS in lower or upper case. Now you mention it, when I was with EE, GPRS kept appearing but I have not seen it since moving to Vodafone. I thought it might have something to do with that reading from other posts. I checked the status and BIS status is not connected.
I tried to create an account yesterday and entered the device PIN and EMEI numbers but had an error message to the effect of the device not registered with provider. Does that make sense? I will try to create one again. Why can't Vodafone tell me this over the phone. Probably got something to do with I keep getting through to billing and not BB Technical! Grrrr.

You don't want to see GPRS as that's a 2G signal and a slower speed. 3G is better.
If the G in 3G is in lower case (i.e. 3g and not 3G) then BIS is not active.

3G (upper case is showing) so BIS is active so all okay with that.
Under the Setup, the 2 email accounts I have linked to the device seem to still be there as it says Email Accounts (2). Would removing them and starting again help? How do I do that?
Thanks.
