Rediculous phone bills

I had today received yet another rediculous phone bill from Vodafone!! £221 for a month when it is usually £137!! My allowance starts on 14th of every month. On the 16th of last month my sons phone received a text saying he had went over his data allowance by £26! (£26 over in two days when he gets 10gb of data!! Not even sure that's possible) Anyway......this is after being told several times that there is a data cap on his contract and wouldn't be able to go over!!!!!!!! I phoned immediately to then be told it's impossible for my sons type of contract to have a cap!!! After a lengthy discussion I was told they would listen to all my calls and if found that I have indeed been filled with utter nonsense they would take off the charges of £26. Instead of this Vodafone have ignored it, not phoned me back, not discounted and charges,, added more charges on despite all mobile data been turned off since that day!!! Yet again I'm absolutely disgusted with Vodafone and their charges!! Oh and just to add to it.....this is wih a 20% discount!!! Roll on September so I can cancel my contract as Vodafone are just ripping loyal customers off daily!!!!

I can certainly understand why you would be unimpressed and frustrated if the advice isn't right.

We have a Vodafone Team here who read all posts. They will catch up with yours and hopefully engage with you.

Things can sometimes go wrong which I'm sure many accept, but then it's ultimately down to how it's put right that then counts ,and instills confidence back into the product and service. Communication is Key.

Just on a seperate note, if you're in contract till September then you should be able to log into your online account, click the upgrade button and you should have the option to change the package without changing your contract end date.

Might be worth looking at one with either a higher usage or at the very least change to one where they'll allow you to apply the data cap to stop thing kind of thing happening again.

Good luck!

Hi @Lindasutherland,

Just in terms of the data usage, have you tried checking on the phone to see what is eating it all up? If you've got an Android device there should be a data monitor built into the software (have a look under Settings -> Mobile Data) which should provide a breakdown of what has been using it. It's not completely accurate and doesn't necessarily reflect exactly how Vodafone monitor/record usage, but it's a useful guide as to whether one particular app is responsible for the excessive use in the background.

Most Android devices also allow you to set a data cap within the same menu. Again it's not completely accurate so it's worth setting the cap 5-10% below your data allowance, but can prove useful.
