Hi,
I installed the latest update for the Galaxy S5, and have a problem with the messages app. I now constantly crashes!
I wrote a post on here before, but it has been deleted. I would have at least expected a message about my questions in there on how to resolve this? and what vodafone is doing about it?
Thanks
Jan

Hi Everybody
As you may have noticed, we have merged a number of threads surrounding RCS together into one thread per device. This has been done so all the conversations can be done in one place rather than in several different threads. This means we are making sure that we can monitor the posts easier and when we respond we are doing so to everybody on the one device.
Please note that this thread is for discussion for RCS on the Samsung Galaxy S5 device only. If you wish to discuss the matter on another device please go to the relevant thread. If there are posts about different devices made on here, then the moderators will move them to the proper threads.
Thank you.

I just checked on the the Sammobile.com firmware checker and it still list the current firmware as:
Latest firmware info
PDA: G900FXXU1ANG2
CSC: G900FVFG1ANG2
MODEM: G900FXXU1ANG2
Version: Android 4.4.2
Added: 2014-07-22
So I am guessing its another dodgy Vodafone firmware

Hi drey_p
Not that I can see. I did get the message to add my phone number which I did (I hadn't read anything about it at the time) and got a text from VF saying that I can turn it off in settings but cannot see anything that references RCS and the only Message+ apps I've got were the standard Google stuff and were there before the update so I guess it isn't in the update.

Excellent - hopefully this is a sign that they have listened and not implemented it on the S5!

I did my updates OTA on Tuesday morning after first checking on Kies but Kies didn't have it at that time, I see that there are a couple of posts in this thread that give what I assume are earlier version numbers so maybe they pulled it before I did my update.

Also braved up and installed .... no M+ :smileyhappy:

I've just installed the latest update and can confirm that Message+ / Rich Communications Suite is integrated into this firmware. The changes are subtle and it does seem to be working okay.
The good news is that it can be disabled if you don't want it. I will do a pictoral guide if I get a chance.
For those of you who want to disable it now. Go to settings > default messaging app > rich Communications and then untick the Rich Communications box. You'll get a warning message about deactivating joyn service, just select deactivate

Yes I did just see .... its well and truely sneeked in.
Messages -> Settings -> Default messaging app-> Rich Communications -> then you can untick the box
Needless to say I have disabled this
