I very rarely get 4G signal anywhere. The problem isn't my phone as with other SIM cards I have no issue. Other people on Vodaphone have full 4G everywhere around here with no problems. Having done a bit of research it sounds like it could be a problem with how my network access points are set up? I set mine up manually how Vodaphone told me when I first joine the network but I was wondering if there are any altenatives? I got in touch with Vodaphone directly and they said they would reset some information on my account but it's made no difference.
1) Does the issue happen in just one location? If so, how far do you have to travel to regain service? No, I very rarely have 4G anywhere.
2) What is the full postcode (e.g. ST1 1AA) of where the issue occurs? If you don't want this showing on the Community, add it to your profile here. SE18 4BB
3) Does the issue occur if you try your SIM card in a different phone? I haven't been able to try this yet.
4) What errors are seen or heard when the issue occurs? Nothing, just a lack of 4G signal.
5) Does this happen on 2G, 3G, 4G or all? All
6) When did you first notice this issue? Ever since I have been on Vodaphone.
7) Is the issue permanent or intermittent? If intermittent, are there certain times of the day when it occurs? No, this issue is permmenant.

Hi,
You could try texting WEB to 40127 to see if you then receive the Vodafone set up messages.
Vodafones own set up help pages are found here How-do-I-set-up-my-phone-for-internet-access-and-picture-messaging-MMS.
Personally I use the settings from GeekSquad in vodafone-apn-settings
However if you do attain 4G at times then the Apn settings should be Ok.
It could be the area your in is fringe for 4G so the phone would try to latch to the strongest connection available.
You can check Signal and connection in the Link > Vodafone Network Checker <
Current Phone >
Samsung Galaxy s²⁴ Ultra 512gb.

@mnt23 I've taken a look into your area and can see you should be able to obtain a 4G connection.
Please try the steps as advised by @BandOfBrothers - if you're still experiencing issues after this, please get back to us and we'll look into the next steps. :smileyhappy:

@alex I've tried those steps and not got anywhere! I'm on abrupt and mainly at best get h+, only get 4G very sporadically.

@mnt23 Have you had the chance to test your SIM card in a different phone?
This will work as a process of elimination to see if the SIM card is causing your issue.

@alex
I sat with someone else with a Vodafone contract. They had 4G and I had h+. We swapped sim cards and it remained the same. My phone had h+ and the other 4G.
To me this rules out the sim and places the issue with my phone. However, I did get 4G with my old EE sim so my phone is capable of receiving it.

@mnt23 - Thanks for getting back to us.
As other SIM cards can get good coverage at that location, it certainly points towards an issue with your phone.
It’s simple to arrange a repair though – just follow the link for more info.
