marti,
Having been round the houses like you,
Have you got a 12v 1.5a or 12v 2a power supply hanging around?
Seems from other posts on this site it is not uncommon for the power supplies do go out.
They have enough amp output to purely establish a connection as your tracert shows, but not enough to power 3G.
On the advice of Matt_B I changed mine and was up and running in 15 mins.
Good as gold since!
If you have one, try it.
Best of luck.

Hi Matt,
Thanks for the reply.
Port clamping is on, has been for days.
Update
Light sequence for past 15 hours!
Light 1 steady, light 2 flashes
Light 1 steady, light 2 steady, light 4 flashes (About 20 times)
Lights 2 & 4 go and light 1 stays steady
Lights sequence 1, 2, 3, 4 as unit resets
Sequence starts again.
Please help – this is beyond a joke now

Hi again Matt,
To correct my earlier post, port clamping was on the BT HH5 - BEFORE we changed to test on another ISP.
This is running on a Asus RT-N12E.

Thanks for your help Matt
I had posted on 2 pages in the forum, was unaware that was frowned upon.
Matt_B on the other post had diagnosed power supply issue.
Fortunately my external HDD had a 12v 1,5a supply with the right end.
It Works!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you so much for persevering.

Hi marti,
I noticed a location change on your Sure Signal, this may have been performed by your ISP.
I have reset this and performed a resync.
Please let me know what lights you're seeing on the Sure Signal.
Hi hbs187,
I've resynched your device.
