Ok when you downloaded back to mm it will go to default csc which for some reason is vd2 the German one.
So you have 2 options.
1 leave as it is.
This was going to be my final option if no other sugestions worked.
2 reflash using correct files for your 930 or 935 use normal csc not home csc once installed let it start up then once it gets to setting up turn off phone restart in recovery mode clear cache and factory reset phone once more.
I tried this using Smart switch and selecting Emergancy Software Recovery and Initialisation and selecting the Device Initialisation tab. Entering my Model Number (SM-G930F) and my serial number found the Vodafone Software (VOD) and flashed OK but when rebooted as warning came up along the lines of that there was an ilegal flash and was presented with the setup screen with VD2. The failed update was using the following: G930FXXU1DQB3_G930FOXA1DQB1_BTU dated 01/02/2017
but I also downloaded another (BTU-G930FXXU1DPLT-20170117160813 dated 03/01/2017) which worked great.
I flashed all the following files without repartition checked.:
rebooted into recovery and cleared cache and factory restore.
Using Phone INFO I now have the following:
and I was able to use system update to install a system patch.
All good in the world of Samsung lol
Thanks Mimo2000 for all your help
