Over the last couple of weeks my sure signal 3g connection is giving my location as Shoreditch in London when it is actually loacted in a small village in the Cambridgeshire fens. I have checked the postcode details on the dashboard which are correct. Could the recent software upgrades have anything to do with this and how can it be rectified.

no the upgrades probably dont affect this
it could be to do with the switch youre connected to. has it always been accurate?

Hi, thaks for the post. I have only recently started using data services over 3g on vodaphone. I had not noticed a location problem until a week or so after switching from my other sp. Whart is the point of entering a postcode to give an accurate location if the address is obtained from the switches location?

Thanks Lee, does this mean that there is nothing I can do to change the location being picked up as Shoreditch when I am using the Sure Signal connection in my house?

The location could be down to the ISP you are using as it will be based on the IP address. Worth contacting them I think. My location is fine at home but whenever I use my parents Wi-Fi the location on google maps shows up as about 6 miles away from their house.

Hi idmiddleton,
As I understand it, should the need come up for the emergency services to trace a call then the information from the dashboard is used as opposed to the exchange or server location for your ISP. You're welcome to approach them about getting this amended but I can't guarantee they'll be able to change it. Just be sure to keep us up to date with the dashboard details.
Cheers, Ben
