I have just received a new VSS-3 and connected it to my Sky Router (Sagem router), also registered it correctly via "myvodafone".
However it doesnt seem to work, the red power light is on and the internet & signal white lights are on. But the handset light isnt on and the unit is not working.
I contacted Vodafone support this afternoon and they reset my VSS-3 and i turned off and back on my 3G signal on both my phone and iPad, but still is not working.
I was then told that i need to ensure certain PORTS are open on my router. I contacted SKY and they informed me that they dont support this issue.
Can anyone help me please?
Regards
Andy

Hi Jenny
I switch it on an only the red strip light comes on. Neither of the other white lights that are supposed to show when a signal is transmitted and when a phone is connected and making a call comes on. None of my registered phones seem to connect any more.

Hi Andrew
no unfortunately not. Alll it shows is a solid red strip but nothing else. It's been doing this since I moved to a new address with Sky.

Hi James
I've tried everything on this list now and I get the exact same issue. One red strip light but no signal light or communication with my registered phones. I have noticed that I cannot port scan the unit or the vodafone sure signal ip addresses from a pc here and the only one that even pings for me from your range is 212.183.133.182. To me it looks like the unit is faulty or there is an issue with an upstream firewall. Are you absoloutely sure that your firewalls will allow comunications from the Sky ip address? Are you able to see if the device is trying to broadcast a signal or connect to one of my nearby registered phones?

Hi rochep,
The traceroute looks fine because it is showing as hitting our server.
Looking at the registration, it has updated and connected to the server last night which would suggest that it is now working?
Is this the case or are you still seeing the same problem?
We don’t block any traffic from Sky and I have a working Sure Signal at home on a Sky connection.
If you’re still having trouble, please let me know the results of a speed test from here.

Hi all
thanks for your help. I've now tried the sure signal box in two other places with a direct internet connection) (my work address and a holiday flat and it still failed to transmit a signal. I kind of think it is faulty.
Is there anything else you can reccomend befor eI throw it in the bin?
