Hi,
My sure signal is poorly. If I reset it a few times, eventually it works but only for a short amount of time.
I've gone through the troubleshooting guide and no joy. I just get the power light. Sometimes the second light flashes but generally it's just the top light on all the time.
Serial Number 21227825490
ISP Plusnet
Router DLink DSL-2740B
It's worked previously for years (probably) but now it's just not happy any more.
Please help.
Thanks

Hi Mattyboy,
Quite a few of us are now finding the power supplies are giving strange symptoms and failures due to age on the Mk. 1 and 2 Sure Signals...... This could be your problem!
The only way to diagnose this problem is to try another power supply.
The genuine power supplies are available on Amazon for about £10 delivered, or there are some on ebay.
There are a couple of threads relating to this problem .... http://forum.vodafone.co.uk/t5/Vodafone-Sure-Signal/VSS1-in-constant-loop/td-p/2335822
Worth a try!
Good luck.
Mike.

The traceroute looks fine however your internet speeds are lower than the requirements for the Sure Signal to work.
Please ensure that the Sure Signal is set as a high priority on your router, and speak with your ISP to see if these can be increased.

I'm just wondering why it's worked on this line for over 2 years and now it's no longer working?
I thought it was a minimum of 1meg?
I have another line with a 20meg up / down and it's not working on that either.
Is there any way someone could check it's status?
Thanks

Hi @mattyboy7110,
If it's not working on an alternative connection, it does suggest a fault with the Sure Signal.
One other thing you can try is a different Ethernet cable. If this doesn't work, you can purchase a new one here.
Thanks,
Kay

Hi,
I've tried two ethernet cables with no success.
Sometimes it does connect but it rarely stays that way for longer than a couple of hours.
Can I take it somewhere to be diagnosed?
Thanks

Thanks Mike,
30 seconds after a new power supply and BOOM, signal.
It's a shame there's no status web page you can look at to determine what was happening.
Incidently, I've put a 2A supply on instead of 1.5A, and it seems to connect much quicker.
Maybe it was under-rated beforehand anyway?
Anyway, my wife will be happy when she comes home which means I'm happy.
Thanks again for your help.

Dear Support
We're a small business that relies on our SureSignal which has stopped working. I've rebooted the BT router (latest version) and the Sure Signal but only seem to get a solid power signal when it reboots. The light next to the @ comes on periodically. The data cable is showing two lights, with one constantly flickering. Below are the details you've requested:
IP Address: 86.131.229.192
Ping Test: 24ms Line quality: very good
Speed test: 6.86
Serial Number: 21230718070
