I have never felt so frustrated before!
I tried to delete Vodafone Protect and it locked my HTC one. I don't know the PIN number and when i clicked on "Forgot my PIN" , an email was sent to my inbox to reset it.
Only, when i click on reset, it sends me online to login using my mobile number and some password which i have no clue what it is. The most annoying and comical thing is that, when you click onn =,"I forgot my password", i'm being urged to type in my mobile number so a password can be sent to my phone.
MY PHONE IS LOCKED!! DUH!
I cannot retrieve my text message as its locked.
I phoned the technical team but they could not help me at all, they want me to do a hard reset. I do not want to do a full reset.
HELP PLEASE
Frustrated Vodafone LONG-TERM customer.

Hi there
If you are unable to reset your PIN or password for Vodafone Protect, I can't think of a way past it. The entire idea is that it locks down your device so that someone else doesn't have access to your personal details. The only way to get around that, is to hard reset the device.

Thank you for your response.
The other alternative is to log into macfee mobile security account and reset your password/PIN from there.
If it doesn't work then i'll just have to do a hard reset.
Thanks again.

You could put your SIM in another device so you can retrieve the text message that will allow you to reset your password?

Hi there
Have you tried any of the advice given a few posts up ie popping your SIM into another handset to get the PIN sent through to you?

What you have to do is put your SIM into another phone, then request the pin. Enter that into the phone that is locked.

Try putting your SIM card in another phone and requesting that the PIN is sent to your phone number. Once you have the PIN, put the SIM card back into the locked phone and enter the PIN you received.
If that fails you will need to do a factory reset of the device.
