Vodafone Wallet card payment mode

There are two card payment modes, automatic and manual. In automatic payment is made is soon as phone touches the card reader. Manual requires logging into phone and then the vodafone app, selecting the card and then selecting to make  payment, before toucing the card reader.

In my view the automatic mode is too open, and the manual is too time consuming. i.e. if would be difficult to use on london transport say.

Is it possible to have a third semi automatic paymeny mode, whereby when you have logged onto your phone, the the automatic mode is used, This would be very quick if fingerprint logging on was used.

This may not be possible since the app is used on different phones, however if they are all running ios or android Iwould have thought it was possible.
