Hi I am trying to install the app and I am being asked this question

If you have any third-party data management apps installed that use a Virtual Private Network (VPN), they’ll need to be removed until the My Vodafone app has been accessed for the first time.

I dont know what apps I am looking for that have a VPN ?

Hi @Donal1967

You need to turn off your WiFi to download the application and when using the first time and after any updates to the application. When the application has been installed and is up and running, you will be able to use WiFi.

Thank you for the advise  I will  try and see if it's a browser.

I have tried installing this with and without the wifi on.

I will let you know  if either work.

Hi fire fox and recently disconnect.me and others are v.p.n web browsers if you have been using any one of them could be the reason why your seeing that message,

I think it's more than likely mostly down to the browsers blocking ability.

So the app can not track your usage accurately

I use Firefox and the My Vodafone app together and haven't had this.   I certainly haven't ever seen that message, just the one that tells you turn turn wifi off to set the app up (I don't think you need to download it over mobile data, just do the setup).   The app needs to authenticate you, so needs nothing to get in the way.   It's possible this is a spurious message and that something else is causing the problem.

In the first instance, try simply clearing recent apps - it's amazing how many problems this can fix.  If that doesn't do it, clear the system cache by going into Settings|Storage and then phone storage, where there should be an option.   If it still doesn't work, try restarting the phone.   As a last resort, uninstall and reinstall the My Vodafone app.

I'm not aware of any 3rd party data managers that use VPNs, but VPN apps are available, and I'm sure you'd know if you'd installed one of those.   It's possible something else is mimicking such behaviour and I'm hoping that the Recent Apps trick will sort that.
