Vodafone protect

I have an old Sony smartphone that I wish to access some old texts on, however Vodafone protect is preventing me from doing this. I cannot remember the 6 digit pin and am not able to recover it either. The sim was deactivated when I upgraded to an Apple iPhone which uses a smaller sim. Can anyone help please.

From past posts the ways of resolving this are :

Remember the pin. 

Pop the sim card in another phone to request a pin reset. 

Hard Reset the phone to take it back to the last firmware update but this would most likely also delete all your saved info.

The problem you are going to have is Vodafone Protect was replaced by Secure Net on 31st March this year.   If you have forgotten your password, and wanted to access the service, you would have needed to request a replacement before the change.
