When will Blackberry 10.3.1.2558 be pushed out by Vodafone?

As the header says, can anyone at Vodafone shed any light on when this critical update 10.3.1.2558 will be pushed out to replace the abismal corrupted 10.3.1.1565 which has affected thousands apon thousands of various BB models around the world.

for those that have received it so far they have confirmed it has fixed the

OpenSSL Factoring attack on RSA-EXPORT

and also the 50% lower ringtone even though still not as loud as before update and also fixed the non existent callender notifications.

BlackBerry has issued a new OS build of 10.3.1 with version 2558 for BlackBerry 10 devices.

The over-the-air update for BlackBerry OS 10.3.1.2558 has already hit regions such as Canada, India, Austria, the UK and South Africa. The update addresses the OpenSSL FREAK vulnerability, reports CrackBerry.

Recently, BlackBerry acknowledged this and issued a security notice for the 'FREAK' vulnerability. It has also produced a list of affected and non-affected software versions.

According to the security notice, OpenSSL Factoring attack on RSA-EXPORT keys is a vulnerability in BlackBerry products. The OpenSSL cryptographic software library is open source software used to secure client/server transactions. [/quote]

I'm on 10.3.1.2243 downloaded OTA on the 16th Feb

There are two numbers tracking the OS; Release and Version.

I'm on release 1565  Version 2243

Confusing aint it?

I belive that 2558 is a new Release number and therefore will have a new Version number; I can't find the Version number yet.

These releases are also device dependent too.

Iv'e just tried to update on my Z10 STL100-2 nothing there yet.

If you feel inclined you can by-pass the OTA here:-

As Rover95 said its confusing.

that 2243 is the corrupt 1565 that has affected thousands upon thousands around the world on various BB handsets.

BB released (after 3 very long weeks of waiting) 2558 over the weekend and it is upto the carrier providers to push it out to the customers.

thousands of us cant use i link to connect to computer as it is corrupt and those that can connect are reporting new issues.

i bought a passport for full price last week as my Q10 is un usable now.

it was pre loaded with 10.3.0.908 which works perfectly and as soon as i registered my phone it started downloading the crap 1565 and you have not seen me move so fast to turn auto update off.

i would like to get my Q10 working again so we now wait for vodafone to push the new 2558 out.

Hi MrDJ,

Yes it's a pain it's not out yet. I must say I'm not affected like you are.

I know the by-pass I linked does work; but you have a bit of messing to do. I'm not going to do it as I'm not greatly hasseled by the lack of an update.

It may be worth it for you.

The Vodafore mods on here will just say they have no info on updates so you'll get no info at all by that channel.

thanks Rover

ow well, will just have to wait then.

i know everyones situation are different but for me it was a life or death situation as we have a 4 minute window for a cardiac arrest crash call and since that very poor update  (which i did not authorixze as ive always had my auto update switched to off) the ringtone had dropped at least 50% and in a busy hospital could not be heard sometimes so i was missing phone calls from our switchboard for emergency responce.

then having to buy a phone for £450 full price out of my own pocket just put the cherry on the cake.

im now only sticking with BB as i like a real keyboard otherwise i wouldnt touch them with a bargepole again.

Hi MrDJ,

Yes I can see that it's a pain for you, I doubt you'll have long to wait for the OTA but nodody knows how long.

Why not try the linked by-pass on Crackberry it's got many updated already.

Odd about the auto update; mine was switched off too and it didn't overide it for me I had to check for an update manually and there it was.

Hi guys

Try the Crackberry site as mentioned - this has some steps to install the new update non-destructively. I can recommend it and can confirm the notifications levels are back to normal volume.

Send me a message if you would like some more info.

Running a Passport by the way - awesome phone.

thanks guys.

will check out crackberry tonight.

and yes it was a strange one as the auto update was defo off and has been for last 8 or so months.

went to make a call friday night and it was asking for a reboot and 1.6gb had been downloaded. after reboot i checked and auto update and it was switched on.

only thing i had done a week earlier was a battery pull and rim support said that should not of turned it on.

so we will never know.

I am having numerous problems since upgrading my Q10 to 10.3.1.1565 - I can't link to Blackberry Link on my PC, I can't update Contacts, I can't adjust notifications (it's stuck on Silent), and also I don't know if it's related but I am suddenly getting masses of email spam when I used to get virtually none (I am not sure if maybe there an email filter working before that is no longer worknig after this update).
