help unlocking iphone 5

Hi folks,

My dad has given me his old iphone 5. He had this through a small business contract along with 3 other phones. They have left vodafone to another network. Ive tried to unlock the phone using the online form but the iemi number does not match the mobile number apparently. Ive tried contacting the helpline and no one has been able to help me. Anyone any suggestions or help?

The original user - your Dad will need to complete the unlock.

Depending on the time the iPhone was last used on the Vodaphone Network its imei number may not be latched to the network right now.

Re insert his SIM card that has been used with the iPhone and ask him to make some calls to re latch it and then try again.

In addition to the previous advice ask your dad if the phone has ever been replaced as this is often the reason for the IMEI not matching.

 

If it has been swopped by Apple (or anyone else) then he will need to ask them to update Vodafone with the IMEI number of the device.
