I am trying to get a sure signal to work at my new house. There are four of us on Vodafone in the house - and there's no reception at all in the area. This is the second Sure Signal I have tried since moving in last week - and it is giving the same result. Solid red power light - slowly flashing white internet light (no other lights).
I have run the tests that you provide links for as follows:
Ping 35ms
Dowload speed 5.7mbs
Upload speed 0.4mbs
external ip address 82.69.93.236
Serial number 40131983781
with regards to traceroute - I am on Apple Mac computers, so would need a walk through for getting that data - as I can only see instructions posted for pc for some reason (perhaps I am missing something)
Any help you can give me before I have to switch the family all to O2 would be gratefully received.
Thanks
Stuart

I am now using a different router. The VSS seems to work with this one. Thanks for your help on this.

Hi stuartfleet,
The upload speed is a little low but is above the minimum speed. Looking at the system though, your Sure Signal is yet to connect to the servers.
If you're running a lot of devices on your broadband connection then this might drop the available speed for the Sure Signal, so try with any other items like computers, games consoles or laptops switched off.
If that doesn't help, here are the Traceroute instructions for a Mac:
Run this and paste the details here so we can take a look.
Dave
If I've helped at all today, why not leave me a little feedback?

Thanks for the reply. I have tried this without anything else switched on - and still got the flashing white internet light. I have run the traceroute though as follows:

Hopefully this will help with diagnosing the problem. Thanks again for your help with this.

I have now tried the VSS at another location - and it appears to work ok there. I have a solid red light, and two solid white lights. Not entirely sure what that means for its lack of connection at my home location, but hopefully this will help you to get to the bottom of that problem. Again, thanks in advance for your help.

Piglet. You might want ot have considered raising your own query on your vss problem - rather than including it as a reply to my problem ..... which, by the way, has not yet been resolved by vodafone.

Sorry Stuart - I read the forum instructions that said keep similar problems in one place, rather than starting threads all over the place.
As my light configuration was the same as yours - I thought it internet etiquette to lump them together - Apologies if you feel your personal thread has been violated. 😕

No violation felt at all. However, you will soon discover that this is quite a frustrating process. Each response takes over a day to arrive and usually involves you being asked to do something else - which of course means another day. No mobile network for me or my family for a week now, and I am on my second VSS. I was just concerned that my original query may end up lost in your own thread.
