Vodafone connect and Dlink Powerline AV2 1000

Hi there

Just signed up to Vodafone Fibre 78 and was activated a few days ago.  I am using the supplied Vodafone Connect router (brand new) and trying to use these brand new Dlink powerline adapters with it as the only phone socket downstairs is in my hallway and my PC is in my lounge :

Dlink Powerline Adapters

My router is showing a connection speed of 40mbps on the overview page, my network adapter properties are showing 1gbps connection, all the lights are green on both adapters but when I go to Ookla speedtest on my PC, and run a test i get only get around 4mbps and it doesnt do any upload test because my internet disconnects on the router (EVERY time).  I have checked the logs on the router and it shows the following : WAN disconnected, WAN type: WAN PTM over DSL, service type: data, device: ppp2

Anyone else come across this?  Ive updated the firmware on the router to v 5.4.8.1.291.1.30.1.19 - still the same thing.  I have restarted the router and the powerline adapters.  The powerline adapters are plugged straight into the wall at both ends...

does is it restart when directly connected to the router and running a speedtest?

powerlines aren't the best, they tend to be only as good as the wiring in the house... doesn't matter how old or new the house is..its random.

Well Ive done nothing different and now the speedtests are completing ok without my vdsl connection restarting but its still showing a very poor download speed (5/6mbps) despite the vdsl status page on the Vodafone connect router reporting much higher (30mbps).  I will have to see if I can get a long cat5 cable to run from the hallway to the lounge to test it without the DLink adapters but this cannot be a permanent thing...  I cant believe theres not one single phone socket in the lounge... very annoying...

@JimboAccy Let us know how you get on with is and if you'd like us to arrange for an engineer to install a new socket in your lounge, please contact our Live Chat team to discuss this.

Wow - can you arrange things like that?  Anyway - done nothing different (still using the DLink powerlines) and its looking ok now :

and my router reflects roughly the same (I can accept the 1/2 mb loss) :

Problem is Im paying for Fibre 76 and am meant to have a guaranteed 40mbps - I havent had 40 or above since a couple of days after activation on the 18th Oct but thats a whole different story - Ive sent a complaint in about it but yet to hear any response or acknowledgement of my complaint.  Watchdog or Ofcom next I think because every day you are not giving me my guaranteed minimum speed, you are breaking the contract.  I digress.

Yet another day at 27.4... hahaha

@JimboAccy So we're able to assist you further with this, please contact our team using the link in my private message

We'll then look into all of the available support options and be able to get you in contact with our specialist team if needed.

Got home this evening to a flashing red light on the router... so nothing at all and a £38 hole in my account for the pleasure.  Restarted internet connection and its now 35mbps.. getting there.. Thanks for the 'kind offer' Alex but I will wait for the specialist team to contact me regarding the lack of response to a submitted official complaint... Have got quite a few things to talk about whoever I end up speaking to...
