Broadband activation stuck

Hello, my broadband was activated on 3 Dec however I still cant connect to broadband. I called Vodafone and was told that the order was ' stuck on the system'and could take 72 hours to clear. Does anyone know what 'stuck on the system' really means and is this even a real thing?

So as expected 72 hours have past and still no broadband. The service does appear on my account atleast, but still when I log in I just get the same Openreach page suggesting I contact my service provider. I have contacted my previous provider who say despite what the chat assistants say only the land line has been  swapped...they cant understand why they weren't swapped simultaneously 

They also offered to match the rate from vodafone If I return to them. If my experience  is anything to go by and would suggest people think twice before switching to Vodafone.

What really annoys me is if they just offered that to begin with, you wouldn't need to change, and everyone would be happy.
