Lan disconnect/re-connect

Had a ps5 since launch on Ethernet with no issues until last week, everyday at sporadic times I get lan disconnect and re-connect in secs of one another.

changed Ethernet n reset router, rebuilt database on console etc

I don’t know whether this is a router issue or console.

Any help would be appreciated

We can run some tests on your router and the line linking it to the cabinet @Jonew, in order to rule out some of the potential causes. If you're still having issues with this, please drop our Social Media team a message here, so they can get started for you 👍

Does it also drop in wifi . That would rules some bits out . Is there anything in the logs

Have you tried a different dns server

Hi

no nothing else drops, wifi is slow at times but doesn’t lose connection.

I haven’t tried a diff server as I’m not sure how, I can’t use WiFi on console as I spike at 500ms most of the time so really need this sorted

Fastest DNS server for PS5
Google DNS: 8.8.8.8, 8.8.4.4
Cloudflare DNS: 1.1.1.1, 1.0.0.1
OpenDNS: 208.67.222.222, 208.67.220.222

Go to your PS5 Home screen.
Go to Settings.
Select Network.
Select Settings.
Select Set Up Internet Connection.
Go to the bottom option and select Set Up Manually.
Select Use Wifi or Use a LAN Cable depending on your preference.
Select DNS.
Change the Primary DNS to 8.8.8.8.
Change the Secondary DNS to 8.8.4.4.
Select Done.

Or pick one of the other dns above

Any more updates yet

I changed the dns settings, had a few disconnects before changing it n only 1 disconnect after it.

will test again today,it’s quite sporadic but will have more time today.

I’m still waiting for a response from Vodafone to run tests on the router and I’ll also get in touch with Sony tomorrow.

I need to rule the router out or Sony will blame the isp

Been on the ps5 nearly all day, no disconnects so far..

I changed the dns as the above post so fingers crossed

That's really good to hear, glad I could help. You can also change the DNS in the router as well so all devices use the new DNS setting as standard.
