On CityFibre 900 and speeds are near unusable. Switched to the mobile dongle and they were even worse.
What is going on?

I just realised my vodafone contract just expired - was moving to Zen easy enough? Vodafone have been awful at responding to this issue so I have no reason to stay with them longer than I need to.

Piece of P. Sign up on their site, wait for router to arrive, set it up on the day of switch. I was about 2 weeks from order to changeover I think.

Got a new router delivered even though i don't think that was the problem but hey ho.
Kept a note of the name i gave the last router and passwords and once entered everything connected without having to re-enter all the passwords to every device.
Whenever i did a speedtest and connected via Fraserburgh the speeds were horrible.
But since that reboot and i'm now connecting to Liverpool/Aberdeen speeds have gone back to normal.
I use www.fast.com for speedcheck as that was recommended by Openreach. If you click the more info at the bottom of the page it will show where you are connected to.

Are you definitely on an Openreach line? If so then it's interesting that people on both Openreach and Cityfibre are seeing issues, suggesting the problem lies in Vodafone's systems not the fibre owner...

It was established ages ago that it's a problem with vodafone's network.

Yeah, the new router is a red herring too, I've had the behaviour across two different routers. It's sometimes just down to pot luck and down to the route your traffic is taking and which part of the Vodafone network you happen to get connected to.
It's wonderful news that switching ISPs resolves the issue though. I've just sent them an absolutely whopping long complaint with masses of evidence and asking to have my contract terminated immediately. I suggest if anyone is serious about wanting out of this issue, they do the same. It isn't going to end.

Where are you being routed to? Would love to know where everyone else is being routed as well. It's always been Manchester for me, which doesn't make any sense considering I'm in Aberdeen.

I've had the problem regardless of where I've been routed to, Manchester, Edinburgh, etc. Also had it regardless of whether my IP is within the same range as the gateway or not. But it doesn't affect all customers at the same time (got family I can check with), so there's definitely some luck involved in how you end up connected to their network.

That is really odd that some people don't get the same issues as all of us do on this thread. I just assumed it's an Aberdeen wide issue with vodafone since I know someone personally, also with vodafone in a different area in Aberdeen that gets the exact same issues. What's weird though, is we don't always get the same issues always at the same time, one night I might have have <20mbps download and packet loss at 9pm and their's could be mostly fine. But who knows, I thought maybe the average person who's on vodafone in aberdeen won't even notice the issues or if they did they wouldn't go out of their way to join this thread and constantly hound vodafone to sort it so I'm not too sure, but it does seem like there's quite a lot of us now on this thread with the same issues and more and more people reporting it as time goes on, but there is that chance that's it's not actually affecting everyone, which then doesnt make much sense why a small group of people are getting the same issues without it being fixed.
