Hello, we have been with Ono (now Vodafone) for more than 7 years, and we have a router that Ono gave us a long time ago. But the wifi works awfully (actually it has been like that for a few years) as it's range its very low and the speed is around 5mb while being in the room next to it (we have 120mb). And for some reason, if you reset the router the speed will go up to around 60mb or so, but temporarily. So we asked for it to be changed because of slow speeds, but they said no. Then, couldn't we at least pay Vodafone to get a newer router? Or is there some way to change it for free?

A Vodafone Connect is provided free with a new Home Broadband Connection or if the Vodafone Connect Router fails @Jupp
As far as I'm aware Vodafone do not sell routers separately.
Are you out of any contractual term as this could help you negotiate if you suggested you were prepared to leave and use another ISP.
I'd suggest to speak with the Vodafone Broadband Team > call 08080 034 515 (free from all UK landlines and mobiles) with lines open between 8am and 11pm, seven days a week.
A person can buy a 3rd party router.
Some information in this link HOW-TO-Use-a-third-party-router-on-Vodafone-VDSL and there are more thread's via a forum search.
