Hmmm. I never reached the sync speed either.

Download speeds will never reach the sync speed because of the overheads in the communication protocols.

It's said you will lose 5-10%, but in my experience, it's always closer to the 10%..(sometimes a bit higher)

Here is a speed test, just taken on the above connection. wired to the router.

The fact that's it's in the wee hours, has helped, it's always a bit slower at busy times.

So what should a realistic Wifi speed on a Full fibre 900 contract be measured around the router ? What speeds are other people achieving ? I am considering a Mesh system but cant find out wether it will increase speeds that much

I have followed most of your posts on here, which are full of disappointment but little facts on which to make recommendations. To answer that question, if I was using a capable device on 5Ghz I would expect at least 600/600. probably much more, but that that is not the whole story.

Let's look at what we know:

You get 700/700 wired to the router.

After many calls and the purchase of a long netowrk cable it seems to of gotten a bit better but with a wired connection only direct from router to desktop 700/700 ish

So we know the Ethernet ports on the Vodafone router (presumably the THG3000) are capable of that.

You then take that through powerline to your PC and the speeds are 130/130, so there is something wrong with your powerline, but there's not much we can suggest to improve that.

Then we move to mobile, speeds on which are very poor. It's possible that the Wi-Fi in the router is not working properly,

I suggested at one point that the 5Ghz may not be working, so everything may be running on 2.4Ghz, which quite simply doesn't have the throughput for Gigabit networking. Have you checked if that is possibly the case?

There is definitely something not right with your installation, but so far I can't get a grip on exactly what that might be.

I also suggested keeping things in one thread so it's easier to follow.

I've missed the point too, what was it?
