Receiving SMS is possible using the software provided, however we were having problems today and yesterday with the SMS activation text not being sent out - so the reason you've not received this is not your fault, you'll be pleased to learn
This has now been resolved, and you have a couple of options available in terms of getting the text message. You can either use the SMS software on the PC as you have been doing - or alternatively, put the SIM card from your modem into a Vodafone handset until you receive the text. Activate your account, and then put the SIM back in the modem again.

I also have to K3565 and have exactly the same problem. I spent all day yesterday and all of this morning trying to receive the SMS message which is not coming through. I do not have a vodafone mobile to put the SIM in. Please help.

Hi Lesley J & Blinkingbee,
If SMS' are not coming through to the SIM - even with the SIM in a mobile - then there may well be a network fault. I'll send you both an email to collect your account details to look further into this.
Blinkingbee - the Mac support is coming (though I can't provide any sort of date or timescale), and as for overseas, we're always listening to our customers, so I'll pass on this feedback!
