Solution

Nintendo Switch with Vodafone tethering from iphone - NAT D

Hello,

for some time now I have been the owner of the Nintendo Switch console and my pain begins with the vodafone.

When the console is connected to a portable hotspot, the console displays the nat of class d, which makes online gameplay completely impossible. I would like to point out immediately that changes of dns on the console and iphone, resetting after a hundred times devices do not have an effect.

Is there anyone (unlike the hopeless chat support) who could help me and change something in my profile to get public ip or some other options so that everything works?

Many thanks :Smiling:

Hi @Wapniak :Smiling:

I've done some searching for you and it does seem that you'd be unable to change your NAT settings on your phone.

If you change the APN in your settings, does this help?

Hi @Natasha

Thanks for your quick reply :Smiling:

Could you tell me what apn should I use? Now I using wap.vodafone.co.uk

Many thanks

@Wapniak That's the correct APN.

You can find more help and information on using your iPhone as a hotspot here.

@Wapniak Are you able to connect other devices to the hotspot OK? For example, a different phone.

I noticed a similar query recently, though about a different console (here), and located this thread from earlier in the year. It doesn't look very encouraging, but it might help you.
