No Way To Safely Remove Usb Modem On Windows

On the old modems you could quit mobile connect. Then there would be an option to remove the usb modem on the toolbar/taskbar.

However, this option appears to be removed now. Leaving no option than to just physically remove the modem - however it should be ejected first through windows right?

I agree, removing safely is always the best option,

Try to do the following:

1. Computer

2. Highlight the USB drive (could be: H, F: etc)

3. Right click and press 'eject' or 'remove'

Give than a shot, the menu options may vary slightly depending on whether you're using Vista or XP, but the general gist is the same.
