Vodafone Mobile Broadband Dongle - Connecting But No Upload Or Download Transfer

I have a number of Vodafone Mobile Broadband Dongles.
A user is located down south near london and can connect to the vodafone GPRS network getting a signal strength of 4 bars but the data transfer shows no upload or download.

Is anybody else having this?

Is the user having problems at any other location or just this one?

Can you give us the postcode so we can check the network for you?

Are there any errors messages being seen and if so what are they?

I'm sure we'll be able to get to the bottom of this and get your user up and running again.

Thanks for coming back to me.
It isn't any particular location as I have also tried the coverage checker against the postcode and the coverage is good.
As I said the dongle shows as having good signal strength but we just cannot get any upload or download data transfer.
No there are no error messages we just cannot use the dongle however sometimes it is intermittent and we probably have had it connected a couple of times but when it does connect it is extremely slow.

Thanks for all the information so far, :)

It sound to me like the connection strength is either too low or the software is failing to initiate the connection in the first place.

You mentioned you have multiple users, are they all using VMC Lite (runs from the modem itself) or VMC 9.3 (latest is VMC 9.3.6) you'll recognise the latter by the two icons on their dessktops, VMC connect ans SMS.
