Vodafone R206 Mifi - Wifi Congestion causing dropouts?

I have been using an R206 for over 2 years and it's been fantastic.  On the road, in hotels, on customer sites - no issue at all.

Until today when I was on a new customer site and the device kept appearing and disappearing from my Wifi list on my Mac and iPhone and caused continual dropouts etc.  I tried resetting it multiple times and changing the channel in use and it didn't help.

I assumed it was broken until I tried it again at home and it's fine.

The only diffrence is at home and where I've used it previously there have been limited Wifi networks in range - say around 10 Max. Today there were lots of Wifi networks in range - more than 25 - so I wondered if this was causing the issue.

My device is:

Vodafone Mobile Wi-Fi

Version – 2.008.5513

Is this a known issue?  Is there a later firmware available?
