Solution

Incoming Calls have started going straight to voicemail

I have a Samsung Galaxy S7, and over the last week quite a few calls have gone straight to voicemail without ringing the handset.

It may be coincidence but this has only happenned when at home on the Suresignal.

Suresignal is showing a solid red power light and two wite lights (plus a third when on the phone), and the phone is showing a full signal. I can make calls fine, and a few calls have come through, but several haven't.

Phone is set to divert to voicemail on no answer or busy, and that work when inside or outside the house.

This has only started happenning in the last week or so - have ther been any network changes that might be related to this?

Any thoughts please?

@BillySollocks

Thanks for confirming that. :Smiling:

I've processed a resync on your Sure Signal for you.

Please wait 6 hours, then reset your device.

Let us know how you get on.

Morning

After vodafone carried out upgrading to the network in the Crewe Cheshire CW1 area during June and finishing early July the incoming calls have been going to voicemail. After weeks of vodafone trying to fix the issue by turning off 4g, unconnecting the phone from the network then reconnecting then sending out a new sim card plus the latest switching my account to a CTR one together with sending a sure signal box the problem still persists. I haved been credited almost £200 in discounted line rental and compensation but I am still not able to receive incoming calls without them going to voicemail. The lies dening any network issues then agreeing indeed they have network issues together with broken promises of call backs ( sometimes ringing my mobile which goes to voicemail after I had given them my landline number!! ) My phone is an i-phone SE only a few months old. To receive calls now I have discovered taht you have to switch off 3G and 4G and use only 2G in certain areas. Totally unstaisfactory and well below the level of service.

@bilbo66 Can I ask if you've travelled abroad recently?

If not, please try the steps in our Network Troubleshooting thread - if you're still experiencing the issue after completing these steps, post the template with your answers here and I'll have a member of the team get back to you as soon as possible.

It's your network at fault. After carrying out work in this area you have caused these issues. I'm waiting for you to fix the network faults. If you look into my account you will see weeks of failed fixes by Vodafone. I have ongoing complaints regarding the appalling situation.

@bilbo66 - So one of the network specialists in my team can take a closer look, please follow step 6 from the Network Troubleshooting guide that @Alex posted.

We’ll then be in touch as soon as we can.

I have read through the template of questions and everything that you have listed has been tried over the last 6 weeks to no avail. Including a new sim card, switching off the account then reconnecting again problem still persists. Vodafone have switched my account onto the newer CTR/L account, again the issue still persists. I have wrote to your CEO last week with a promise of someone from your Specialist Care Team to contact me. So far no-one has been in contact. That reference to that is 1-667874160735. I have narrowed it down in being able to receive an incoming call when only connected to 2G. In either 3G or 4G the caller gets the ringing tone for 6/7 times then the call is diverted to my voicemail. I do not hear or know someone is trying to contact me. If I switch off 4G and switch to 2G then I can receive calls. You seem absolutely incable of caring about this issue, rather offering fixes that do not work. It is a network issue that you have caused with work that was carried out in June.

@bilbo66 On the Network Troubleshooting thread I've previously linked, there's a template at the bottom.

If you complete this template and post your answers back here, we'll be able to take a closer look into your query.

How many more times can I explain that your company are looking into this issue? I'm filling out no templates or similar. Please do not send anymore ridiculous replies about templates.

Well after tolerating this issue (suresignal not recognising incoming calls and them chgoing straight to voicemail) for six months I have eventually found a crude fix (I thnk)!

The Suresignal (SS) refused to connect to the phone for incoming or outgoing calls at the weekend, so after leaving a amessage for my "dedicated One-net Account Manager" on Sunday I eventually had a call back today (Wednesday) and was put through to the SS Techincal desk.

They advised changing network mode to “3G only” whilst at home.

This is because if the phone reverts to 2G to get a weak signal from a local transmitter, the suresignal doesn’t work with 2G (or 4G which is data only at present).

By forcing the phone to 3G the SS recognises it and takes on the call routing.

However, I tehn need to switch to “2G/3G/4G” when I leave the building to get faster internet on the phone when 4G is available outside!!

They said there are plans to allow calls via 4G and if/when this happens there MAY be a replacement SS that will work on 4G as well, but until then I need to set teh phone to “3G Only“ whilst in range of SS.

Hardly a 21st century "solution" but if I remember to switch the phone mode when entering and leaving the building, it should hopefully work!!
