Welcome to Vodafone Community
Thanks for contacting us @Malc24 🙂
We've had a look into the postcode provided with our Network engineers and they've advised that we do have a mast due to go live at that location, however they've been unable to provide a timescale for this.
This will be site 14638 and when it's up and running on our network, it should have 2G, 3G and 4G technology - this is subject to change so I'm unable to 100% guarantee that.
Once there's some movement with an activation date, this will reflect on our network coverage checker under the planned maintenance tab.
Hi. The mast has gone live for O2 users, but not for Vodafone. From my understanding the application was from Telefonica (so all had assumed correctly it would cover O2 network), but work to get live seems to have been done by Vodafone. Can you update on when it will be active for Vodafone please (and why it's working for O2 but not Vodafone)?
Hi. The new mast in West Tytherley, Hampshire, has gone live for O2 users, but not for Vodafone. Looks like installed by Vodafone but won't be serving the network.
Change to O2 I would guess is the only solution
Hi Malcolm. Assumption, or have you found out for sure that it’s not going to serve Vodafone? I for one will be extremely frustrated if that’s the case as I’ve just transferred all my families contracts to Vodafone as we were all under the impression it was for both networks.
Thanks for the update. Could you confirm that it will give signal to Vodafone customers when issues resolved. There is confusion here whether it is will serve O2 and Vodafone or just O2?
@chrishammond64 I can view this mast on our internal systems, which usually means our equipment is on there. As @Gemma mentioned, there's some planned work due to take place over the upcoming weeks, but there's not much information we're able to view related to the work. I'm not able to provide you with a concrete answer just yet, but I'd say to give it roughly 3-4 weeks and then post back on this thread if you haven't noticed a change in coverage 🙂
Chris, we have one phone onO2 and one on Vodafone, I am getting 50mb download on the phone and have booth a portable WiFi’s unit which makes a decent change from our normal speeds.
i am going to swap the Vodafone to O2 today.
You maybe able able to change your contract with vodafone having no coverages?
@chrishammond64 There's some information showing on our internal systems, so I'm positive this is being worked on. I've asked our Specialist team for an update though, to see if any further details can be shared.
They'll be out of the office over the weekend so it'll likely be early next week before I hear back from them. As soon as we know more, either myself or a member of my team will be in touch.
Is it possible to confirm it will definatley give a vodafone signal at some point?
The frustration is that everyone was told it would be O2 and Vodafone. O2 customers have a signal now, but not Vodafone. There is therfore a great deal of confusion why this is, and if it will every emit a vodafone signal?
