OTP text from one creditcard arrving 4/5/6 hours late, all others working, need help PLEASE

My creditcard provider OTP text codes are consistanly arriving 4/5/6 hours after being requested, the number they are coming from is outside the UK. All my other OTP come immediately it is just this one! The card is on a group of pre-paid creditcards, others in offcie on same cards, but different mobiles (EE & Three) recieve their OTP instanlty. I've spoken with creditcard provider and they have been able to confirm the OTP is instanly going out, and they are aware of a small number of customers saying they have same issue and the issue is with mobile provider. Does anyone have any idea, can't get through to Vodafone, let alone figure out who to speak to, but this is very frustrating.

Personally I think this maybe due to mast congestion regarding the delay in receiving these.

Try a soft reboot by turning the phone Off and On.

Sometimes choosing a different network in the phones connection settings and then re choose Vodafone can help.

Many more people are now using the network throughout the day via working from home or being furloughed.

Vodafone are constantly improving the network to try and keep everyone connected.

You can check the status of your local and surrounding masts via 》Vodafone status-checker. 

However you can use Live Chat via contact-us and the Vodafone Social Media Team via Contact-us-for-account-specific-queries and they can check your account for you.

I wouldn't suggest to ring Vodafone on 191 due to 》Due-to-the-unprecedented-demand-on-our-call-centres-you-may-unfortunately-experience-longer-than-usu...

If there is any congestion on the network it will be confined to calls and data, if you have signal on your phone you will be able to receive an SMS. It may be there is some security on the Vodafone network as part of phishing prevention delaying the message.


A workaround may be to have the OTP sent to a landline number to be read to you.


However, it won't do any harm contacting Vodafone, they will be able to check your account and make sure your SMS are being forwarded from the message centre as soon as received.
