VoLTE availability

Why do you have staff that say things are available when they are not?

It’s very frustrating at how slow Vodafone are at getting reliability features going (even if they are half hearted efforts (WiFi Calling does not support SMS)).

So when is 4GCalling coming to iOS devices?

and why does WiFi calling not support SMS?

Sir, I would like to have a SIm only contract in February and a Sony XZ Premium.  Is it possible to purchase the Sony XZ Premium version  ( PAYG version ) and insert the sim card in and have 4G Calling?  Will it work?  I would want a 100% guarantee and I would require that the mobile is unlocked.

We passed your query onto our specialist regarding VoLTE @JamesBond, and they've provided us with an update.

They've advised that the phone would need to have been bought from Vodafone direct (either in store or online), with your SIM Only account set up to use with the correct Pay monthly settings (our Sales team would be able to ensure this is correct for you), and the latest software version being on the phone.

Sony XZ is compatible with 4G Voice, and as long as the phone has Wi-Fi Calling it'll also support 4G Voice :Smiling: You'd just need to ensure that you're using the phone with VoLTE in one of our supported locations.

I have a sim free Samsung Galaxy S8 bought from carphone warehouse. Would I be correct in thinking that it would be compatible with VOLTE on Vodafone assuming I was in an enabled area IF I FLASHED THE LATEST VODAFONE ROM  on my phone?

I'm on a 12 month sim free red plan too.

@Richy_01 I'm going to have this looked into for you 😊

As soon as we hear back, either myself or a member of the Community, will update this thread and let you know.

@Richy_01 We've received a response from our designated team who can confirm that this isn't something we can advise you on, as you purchased the phone from a third party.

We wouldn't recommend flashing the ROM on the handset as this could void the warranty.

any news on availability of 4G calling on iPhone 7+?

I used to have this on three.

@planetf1 You're able to find our current list of eligible devices here

We don't yet offer 4G calling on the iPhone 7+ however if this changes, the page will be updated to reflect that.
