'Shower Thoughts' are great, yet I've never had a platform to express my love for them
Thankfully the Off Topic section of the Community has given me this space! (probably unfortunate for everybody else )
Here's some of the better ones I've thought I've come across.
- The yellow capsules inside Kinder eggs are supposed to be the yoke of an egg.
- Your stomach thinks all potatoes are mashed.
- If you punch yourself in the face and it hurts does that make you weak or strong? (Maybe a bit silly).
- When you bite down on something, you're actually biting up because you can't move your top jaw.
- If an alarm is going off, it's actually on.
- Why do people confuse left and right, but not up and down?
As this is one of my favourite hobbies - please add them down below!

Nothing is on fire but instead fire is on things !
When I say "forward" or "back" my lips move in those directions ! Weird.

These are great @John @jeffkinn @BandOfBrothers
I've seen people talk about these on various sites, but didn't realise there was an actual name for them.
So I did a little reading and found these shower thoughts, that relate to two of my favourite things... my phone and food 🤣
- Why aren’t iPhone chargers called apple juice?
- What if the first person to eat something was allergic and now we're missing out on what could be a delicious food?

Expanding on that last one, humans have evolved into cautious and adventurous eaters for a reason. The adventurous ones find new food sources and therefore increase resilience to crop failures. The cautious eaters don't get poisoned by unsuitable foods. That way, at least one half of the population survives at any one time.
Other species probably do it too, but to a lesser extent.

In my old job as a chef, me and my boss used to spend a lot of time in the kitchen together, obviously we got on like a house on fire and used to have some very random conversations. So ours were kitchen thoughts, rather than shower thoughts. But we'd come up with strange things like - Fire trucks are actually water trucks 🚒 Or the fact that all mirrors are sold used!
We'd think about common phrases too and wonder where they came from like - What does the H stand for in Jesus H Christ? Or why are you gooseberry when you're third wheeling on a date?

I loved reading all of these random little thoughts as I have them a lot too (@John's probably heard me say a few in the office) 😂
One that stuck with me after doing a quick search myself one day is quite similar to @BandOfBrothers - "How come your lips don't touch when you say 'touch', but they do touch when you say 'separate'?"
Other absolute favourites of mine are:
- "Why is bacon bacon and cookies cookies, when you cook bacon and bake cookies?" 🤔
- "If you're waiting for the waiter aren't you the waiter?" 🤔
- And a couple more that left me a bit mindblown (the irony) were "It was the brain that named itself" and "The most important organ that you have is the brain...according to the brain" 😲

Why do people always ask if you'd like "a nice cup of tea". I wouldn't assume the alternative was a horrible one (maybe I should!)
"Are you going anywhere nice for your holiday?" "Nah, mate, we did that last year. We're parking the van on an industrial estate this time" - said no-one EVER.

Hahaha - these are brilliant!
I'm glad that it's not just me who has these 'Shower Thoughts' or in @TJ's case 'Kitchen Thoughts'!
Whilst I'm here...
- I'll be the last person to die in my lifetime.
- In order to fall asleep you first have to pretend to be asleep.
- Asking somebody on the phone "Where are you?" is a recent thing, as before mobile phones, they'd have to be in the specific place you called.
And seeing as were on the subject of the way words 'feel'...
- When you say the word 'Crisp' you can feel it move from the back of your mouth to the very front.
I don't want to live on this planet anymore... 😨

Do you really have to ask people where they are? Isn't the first thing anyone says on a mobile, "I'm on the train" (loudly) - or have we got over that?
