Dual sim or sim only.

I currently have two Vodafone phones, one for work and one personal. I'm fed up having two handsets and I'm planning to go to a dual sim phone when my current contract expires.

It looks like Vodafone don't do dual sims so I'll have to go sim only or switch supplier.

Q1) Am I correct?

Also never having used a dual sim phone.

Q2) Can both sims be active, i.e. available to take calls, at the same time? I know I can only answer one at a time.

Q3) Can I switch off one of the sims if not available for work?

Thanks in advance.

As far as I know, you should be able to use a dual SIM phone as long as it's compatible with the Vodafone network, though Vf don't supply them themselves.   I'd recommend that you check the specifications very carefully and also look at the manufacturer website for specific methods of operation in regard to which SIM does what when.  Most have downloadable pdf manuals these days.

If you can find a shop that sells suitable devices, getting a demonstration and trying yoru own SIMs in the device would be good, too.
