HELP!!! 1020 cannot find bootable option

4: Newbie

My son was facebooking on his 1020 when it froze.

We rebooted it and now it says "Unable to find a bootable option. Press any key to shutdown"!!!!

He needs his phone urgently as he goes to school along way from our house.

I have tried to do factory reset using the volume keys etc but it never finds the internal drive to enable this to happen.

Its like a harddrive thats lost its MBR.

What can be done about this?

Ive seen others online that had to have replacement phones.

Hi there

Have you tried using the Lumia Software Recovery tool?  Quite a few people on different forums have reported success when using it.  Take a look at the detailed instuctions from Microsoft here

PWIAC

Took it to Vodafone shop today to be sent off for repair or replacement.

You cant use the recovery tool when the phone doesnt boot.

It doesnt see the partition required to even give the option to go into recovery mode.

Repairs your only option then

If the Software recovery tool can't help the phone then something is seriously wrong inside
