Hello, Our vodafone router will not connect to any devices on the 2.4Ghz setting, (5Ghz works fine).
I have split the SSID's and tried just about every trick in the book to connect the printer, wifes mobile and a games console to the 2.4Ghz frequency and none of them will connect.
I have factory reset the router several times, added MAC addresses, tried static ip's plus other options and nothing works.
Do I have a faulty router?
Maybe it's faulty, maybe it's not!
First up, a nice little utility you can load on to your mobile (or tablet) called WiFi Analyser. It's not an in depth tool, but at least you'll be able to see if the 2.4GHz radio on the router is actually transmitting.
If you find the router is not transmitting, in the expert settings you can try assigning it to a specific channel rather than "auto". *Just doing this will reset the 2.4GHz radio, so it should work for a little while at least.
Finally, rather than typing in the password, use the WPS feature.

According to WiFi Analyser we do have a 2.4ghz signal coming out of the router.
I tried changing the channel too but still didnt work.
Seems no device is getting an ip address from the router and just won't connect to the 2.4ghz wifi.
I used my phone which connects to the 5GHz with no problems and tried to connect to the 2.4 GHz and it wouldn't connect either so it seems its definately an issue with the router.
Yup, if you are using the EXACT same SSID and everything on 5GHz and 2.4GHz and one will connect and the other won't then it does kind of suggest that it's an issue with your particular modem/router.

I have the same problem. I've expected a faulty router but as we have the same issue and it started at similar time I'm not so sure. Have you had any luck with it or have you contacted support?

I am a new customer to Vodafone and only just found out by accident this afternoon that it is running on the 5ghz network and not 2.4 or split.
However, my solution is simply to turn off the 5ghz feed and have it only as a 2.4ghz network, if you can of course. Do not try to split the frequencies.
You just do not need 5ghz and need 2.4ghz much more. Your smart home devices if you have any will not work on 5, but everything will work on 2.4.

I need help with this too please. I have the exact same issue. Randomly wifi stopped working for a bunch of devices and splitting the network i can see its all those on 2.4ghz that cannot connect, 5Ghz is fine.
I have tried everything, factory rest etc, but something is clearly broken.
As a workaround I have connected the router to my extender via a cable, and connect the 2.4ghz devices to that....

Hi - as I said, I tried splitting it. It doesn't make a difference.... regardless of whether its split or not 2.4Ghz devices (those that only support 2.4ghz) can no longer connect to the router.
I really do wish they'd stop on this split the SSIDs fetish - in 99% of cases it's the wrong thing to do!
What's probably happening is that you have a device or two that uses the USA channel range that ranges from 1 to 11, and the router is sitting on channel 12 or 13! Simple answer set the router to use a channel in the range of 1 - 11 and it should work!
Hi, i'm having the exact same issue. Countless hours wasted trying to fix myself and spent on the phone to tech team and they won't send an engineer. Same problems with the new router sent. Did you get this sorted? Update I fixed it by going into the expert settings and changing 5G bandwidth to 20mhz and 2.4G to 20/40mhz
Mark, I'm having the same issues even with the new router. I've spent countless hours on the phone to the tech team and still no resolve. Can you please advise how to fix? It's a nightmare.
I'm having the same issue. I have tried restarting and factory resetting the router; splitting SSIDs; switching off 5GHz band; changing frequencies. Nothing works. No SSID picked up on the 2.4GHz band on my network analysis app on my phone. Called vodafone support. They said they ran a remote diagnostic and it is working! They will ask BT Openreach to test the line. Very frustration as my router has no problem with internet connection. The problem is clearly within the router itself. The problem is, my extenders use the 2.4GHz band so now my home wifi network is not working. Very frustrating. Seem to have hit a brick wall with support. What now??
It does sound like the router isn't broadcasting the 2.4GHz WiFi.
Firstly I would try factory resetting the router by pressing and holding the reset button for 10 seconds, or use the firmware option. You can see (but not change) the channel it is using by going to Status & Support in the router and scrolling down. I have the THG3000 router so I don't know if the earlier routers are the same.
I have the same issue. 2.4g with a weak signal, which you can only connect to 1meter away. Vodafone tech support have been zero help in fixing this issue. Hours on the phone with them, still will not connect to any 2.4g device in the house. Vodafone will not replace the unit, which clearly has an issue,
I am in a contact with Vodafone, but I will kick them into touch at the end of it. Never to return.
