Just tried turning on / off via my account & all working ok, changes state in 2 or 3 minutes, mine was set to 'Safe' and I then went to 'Custom' and set 'Block All', tried to access banned sites & it rejected the connection, reset to 'Safe' mode and a few minutes later I could access sites as normal. So if you'd like to give me a www site you've tried I could retry on my link for you.

Certainly did, just thought if you wanted somebody to check a particular site to see if I could duplicate your problem, as my post said I managed to switch the barring on and off without problem and it stopped me browsing the sites I tried so not sure what help you're asking for ?

I know you are trying to do this through the router and that should certainly be possible, but to save you some short term stress have you looked at whether this is possible inside your operating system? For example this can easily be enabled through parental controls inside Mac OS and I would imageine Windows offers something similar. 

 An alternative option would be to change your DNS configuration inside the router to something like Open DNS that comes preconfigured with the family settings to block adult websites at no cost. https://www.opendns.com/home-internet-security/

You can do that by changing the DNS settings inside the router. After setting up a free family shield account with Open DNS go to your router and navigate to Internet > DNS &DDNS. Select manually and put in the Open DNS numbers i.e 208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220.

Personally I use the DNS from https://dns.watch inside the router, but Open DNS should help you filter out the adult content.

Not a practical solution, have over 30 devices connected, all operating systems, what wrong with Vodafone simply using a system that works.

It doesn't matter if you have a 100 devices connected. Just change the DNS settings in the router and all devices will connect via those settings. According that link above you don't even need to regsiter with them for the family guard set up and adult filters will kick in by default, so it takes you 30 seconds to verify whether or not this works.

I'm sorry but that is just not true. Open DNS works perfectly, tens of thousands of people use it every day.

You appear to just want to vent and say "It doesn't work" instead of saying exactly how it doesn't work, what have you done so far and listening to what others are suggesting in trying to help.

Have you actually read the instructions on the Open DNS website? It's not a one click solution but it never will be, it's a little more technical than that. It's not difficult but requires a procedure to be followed. 

 

A bit like the chat agent said, "If you believe everything has been tried and failed then how can I help you?"
