Device Blocked by Firewall?

I have a device (Blu-ray Player) that connects to the hub (THG3000) OK.  But when I test the connection it fails.

The Event Log had this entry:-

10/27/2020 19:43:27 [451396.275803] DROP wan in: IN=pppoe-wan OUT= MAC= src=185.137.233.123 DST=90.255.215.93 LEN=40 TOS=0x00 PREC=0x00 TTL=242 ID=54374 PROTO=TCP SPT=49741 DPT=10020 WINDOW=1024 RES=0x00 SYN URGP=0 MARK=0x8000000 firewall.

Does anyone have an idea what's happening?

The log entry shows the firewall blocking an intrusion from a Russian IP address so nothing to do with your player.

What do you mean by you test the connection? Does this player have apps built in?

Hi Jayach,

The player has a Test Connection option on the menu.
It performs the following:-
1. MAC Address (nn:nn:nn:nn:nn:nn)
2. IP Address, Subnet Mask, Gateway, DNS Server
3. Gateway Ping
4. Internet Service Test
The first 3 pass, but the last one fails.

It appears to allocate an IP address and there are four entries in the Event Log prior to the firewall issues.

DHCPACK(br-lan) 192.168.1.92 nn:nn:nn:nn:nn:nn
DHCPREQUEST(br-lan) 192.168.1.92 nn:nn:nn:nn:nn:nn
DHCPOFFER(br-lan) 192.168.1.92 nn:nn:nn:nn:nn:nn
DHCPDISCOVER(br-lan) nn:nn:nn:nn:nn:nn

So I've no idea what to try next.

What make/model of player is this?

If you play a Blu-ray that has extras that are accessed over the web do they work?

I am just wondering if it is trying to connect to a site that is no longer running.

Hi,

My internet has been off for a me days.

The Bluray is a Samsung BD-P4600 which is quite old.  The message I am currently getting is :-

Failed to send DHCPV6 message to ff02::1:2 (Permission denied)

Should I turn off IPv6?

I don't believe Vodafone have IPv6 working properly yet so I would say yes and see how it goes.
