Hi there due to have gigabit 900 broadband installed next week Thursday but I need it installed in a room at back of house does anyone know if they do that or do they not like doing that?

They will only install it on the front side of the property due to policy and the fact the optical cables they use are only 25 meters in length from Pole, or Ground, then any excess cable is coiled up into the box they install on the front of the house. This is common practice by most mainstream broadband providers.
If you need to have a connection at the back of the house your best bet would be to ask them to install the FIBRE to Ethernet Box in the best room at the front side of the house and then when they leave you move the router using a long Ethernet Cable to the desired room. Since there is two devices they install, the fibre box, and a router, the router can be relocated, the box can not as it is installed onto the wall and fixed, to prevent the fibre cable bending.
If you choose upstairs, it can easily be routed to another bedroom using the loft or if downstairs from room to loft then drill a hole to the outside at the back of the house and a hole back in to the room you need. If you do opt to the outside method ensure you use a shielded Ethernet cable that is designed to work well outside as they are tougher.
The last option is the easiest but expensive is to buy a MESH wireless system since there is no way using the default router WIFI to obtain the full 900mbits in other rooms, with a MESH the nearest you will get to it to top speeds but even then there's never any reassurances because WIFI channels are shared with your neighbors. A good mesh system will cost between £300-700 for example 3-5x UniFi FlexHD Access Point using a Cloud Gen Key. Other good ones are done by Google. But bottom line is, if you want top speed, Ethernet cable is the way to go. You can use powerline Ethernet Adapters but very unlikely you will get above anywhere near 900mbit either.

Any update on this? How did the install go? Did they try to install the ont as close to the back of the property?
Just wondering as in the same boat with wanting it installed to the rear, hard wood floors here so not really going to be possible to hide a cat cable.
Thanks!

You can easily run a CAT outdoor shielded network cable. Simple, fast, and cheap.
