Hi

Why would the SNR (Signal to Noise Ratio) be quite different thru the same set of wires for upstream and downstream?

 

It is only data packets on the same circuit.

 

SIX being the hoped for worst case, I have a

Signal-to-Noise Ratio5.4 dB7.3 dB

 

Less than 6 is desirable. 

 

Also why would my telephone (LandLine) work when plugged into the back of the router?

Negating the need for the splitter/filter I believe. Dare I say a cost saving?

 

Personally I think that the Router/Modem has a lot of potential if only there was a workshop manual, like a Haynes for your classic car etc.
