Solution

I want change to FTTP

Hi all,

My contract runs out on 12th May for normal broadband.
Was wanting to know what the expected waiting time is to get the full fibre 500 package setup now that it's available in my area after 2 years.

If anyone knows give me a heads up. Thanks!

They let me upgrade from Superfast2 (fttc) "to Superfast 100 (fttp) with 8 months of my contract left.

It's quite possible they don't know fttp is available to you. Phone them on any sales number you can find. I know I couldn't go a week without broadband. Phone number is transferable.

Everyone's experience is different. In my case about three weeks.

If you're with vodafone now and can find a good deal deal on fttp you could phone up now and order an upgrade and they'll match the price of the deal you found. You qualify for it, why not try it?

Thanks Ripshod,

The account page gives me an upgrade option, but it's still for using normal broadband @ 10mbps faster speeds and not the full fibre @ 150mbps faster guaranteed speeds. I'm guessing I need to wait for my contract to end before I can change to full fibre as it will require a number change.

I got a letter from vodafone the middle of last year asking me if I wanted to upgrade from Superfast2 (fttc) "to Superfast 100 (fttp) for £32 a month instead of the current £25 a month.

I'll try giving them call, that full fibre 500 looks like a good offer to me @ £38 a month.

I believe that once you've put the order in, it'll be longer than 2 weeks to allow for cooling off, but provided there's an available slot it'll usually be 3 to 4 weeks before installation.  We've just been through the upgrade process, but having no sensible price offered, we're moving to BT with an installation date just 2 weeks and 2 days after the order was placed.

*The price we're paying was a personalized offer, so no link I'm afraid
