IP Geolaction wrong - Google thinks I'm in Ireland

Google search is placing my Gigafast (static) IP (90.255.244.xxx) in Ireland.  I'm actually on the UK South coast.

As a result search results are not appropriate.  Happens on multiple devices, OSes, browsers etc.

I can see this sort of thing has happened before.  Any one else affected?  Any hints for getting it sorted that don't involve endlessly rebooting my router for L1 support?

Nope at the moment, I would appear to be in Durham, which is not a million miles away!

You could always take the opportunity to watch RTE - getting an Eire based IP address does let you access their streaming portals.  Getting an Indian IP address lets you access theirs too, but not much of the content is in English (which is to be expected).

No hints for you I'm afraid but I'll watch this one to see if a solution is forthcoming.  I never know quite where I am but a google search for a product ‘near me’ has me all over the UK.

When I was with NTL / Virgin Media in Essex, my location was always 'Sawbridgeworth' which was about the centre of our 012799 dialling code area.   Virgin Media is not available where I moved to though 🤔
