IP address blacklisted

Hope someone can help me? I’ve tried contacting Vodafone by phone and online chat I can’t get through. For a little while now I’ve been having problems with some emails bouncing back, I’ve checked my IP address and it’s blacklisted against a couple of spam lists. I’ve reset my router several times to get a new IP but every IP I get is also blacklisted against the same spam lists.

How do I get Vodafone to give me an IP that isn’t blacklisted?

Thanks

Thanks for getting in touch @PhotoSi. So we can take a closer look into your IP address, please contact us via Facebook at Vodafone UK; or get in touch on Twitter using the handle @VodafoneUK.

Make sure to pop your username and link to this thread in your message too, this will save you having to explain again and we can help you quicker.

Hi,

I have been having similar problems since the beginning of the year with intermiitant suspensions and just been told by my host tech support the following...

'The reason behind the multiple suspensions is due to the botnet-related IP-address belonging to a third-party provider being used to access your mail account.

This means that you had accessed the email account either via webmail, or using an email client, from the public IP address of your 3rd party provider, Vodafone. This IP address is currently listed in an email blacklist.'

The vodafone online 'chat' has been worse than useless.

pls help

Hi

Surely you have changed the password to a very long and a very strong one?

New strong passwords every month.

Thanks for the link.

According to SPFBL.net my phone IP has been flagged because 'have none valid FCrDNS.'

Hi

So you presumably have a rootkit?

I suggest Kaspersky and BitDefender and MalwareBytes.

https://rescuedisk.s.kaspersky-labs.com/updatable/2018/krd.iso

https://www.bitdefender.com/solutions/free.html

https://www.malwarebytes.com/

If you also run a Live Linux like LinuxMint then no rootkit can really affect you, and you will then know for certain if it is internal or external.

I'd kind of suggest that the complete lack of Forward Confirmed Reverse DNS on Vodafone's consumer (and that of almost all other ISPs) product is the reason for the issue!  Other than having a hosted domain, and logging into that domain via a terminal to send email, it's pretty hard to get around - which is the point of mail from a verified domain!

I rather ASSUMED that since the passwords are being changed, access is possible for a short period of time.

Then the planted botnet takes over and ..........

The (spoofed) IP address from the perpetrator is what is unverified, not the victim's, but ASSUMPTION on my part.
