Been with Vodafone for 3 years + and fine until recent 4/5 weeks.
Long story short, much hassle over the last week but eventually got upgraded from Superfast 1 to Superfast 2.
It's only been a day but upload speed has gone from around 9Mbps to 18.5Mbps, brilliant ... however download speed has gone from around 37Mbps to 39Mbps!
I know it can take a while to 'bed-in' but as this is an existing connection I was expecting an immediate improvement on both upload and download, (my estimate is 50+ to 70+Mbps and a guarantee of 49+Mbps).
Am I just expecting too much, being impatient, or could something be wrong?
Solved! Go to best answer.

These are my line stats.
Line Quality
Current Rate | 78687 kbps | 20000 kbps |
Maximum Rate | 80383 kbps | 28819 kbps |
Signal-to-Noise Ratio | 6.1 dB | 11.5 dB |
Attenuation | DS1 8.8 dB, DS2 21.2 dB, DS3 33.0 dB | US0 1.9 dB, US1 14.6 dB, US2 23.4 dB |
Power | 12.7 dBm | 3.3 dBm |
CRC Errors in last 19978 minute(s) | 0 | 5210 |
K (number of bytes in DMT frame) | 0 | 0 |
R (number of bytes in RS code word) | 10 | 0 |
S (RS code word size in DMT frame) | 0.0987 | 0.3819 |
D (interleaver depth) | 8 | 1 |
Delay | 0 ms | 0 ms |
The sync speeds are shown as current rate, and on those a I get download speed tests of approx 71down,18up

The important thing at this point is your SNR. If it is about 6.3 you can't expect much more. If it is above that figure you can expect DLM to give you a bit more.
What does the BT checker say you can expect> BT Broadband (btwholesale.com)

Thank you.
I have no idea about "SNR" but using your link I see.
59.1 - 78 Down
19 - 20 Up

Are you referring to download speeds as shown by speed sites such as speedtest.net or sync speeds?
You can see your sync speeds and other stats by logging into the router. You can also see the sync speed in the Vodafone app.

I refer to download/upload sppeds consistently being received by Speedtest.net
I can see SNR under 'DSL Status > Line Quality' in my router.
It shows SNR Down = 6.6dB SNR UP = 9.8dB

You should also see your sync speeds there and also on the first page of the router login.
You should really carry out speed tests whilst hard wired to the router and you can expect them to be about 90% of the sync speeds. The speeds on the checkers and in the estimates are sync speed and not download speeds.

I have re-booted my router and now Speedtest shows 67 down + 18 up with wifi and 66 down + 18 up on ethernet.
Looks like this may have resolved my problem - thanks for your help.

That's usually the cure for most problems, "Turn if off and on again."

🤣 I should have known, either power cycle or hammer cycle!
