Very poor wifi sgnal strength

Hi.

Had a search, but wondering if there's anything to be done for very poor wifi signal from a brand new fibre router? 

It is very poor compared to the last router and even it was poor compared to our old BT one. 

Currently can guarantee decent signal in only 3 rooms in the house, nothing at all outside, the rest of the rooms are average at best. 

Is it easier to not waste time messing with settings and just buy a signal booster? Would probably need at least two though.
