I have called 1211 many times and keeps telling me I can not access answer service then just disconnects me every time ? I’ve not used this number in a long time but I use to have answer machine on it last time ?

If you are on PAYG, you have to keep the SIM active and this will mean making a regular chargeable activity. Calls to voicemail come out of added credit or PAYG bundle allowance, if you don't have any credit on the number, the call will immediately disconnect.
If you are within the time limit before the SIM is disconnected from the network for non use, try topping up the number, making a quick chargeable connection and calling voicemail again to set the service. For you help and guidance, please refer to the Terms and Conditions, If you choose to stop using the services.
