I am sure your problem here will be your APN phone settings.  The first thing to do is to go into your network settings and make sure pp (prepaid) is selected.  If you go to this link What should I do if I have little to no data connection? there is further information,  the easiest way to get the correct settings will be to text WEB to 40127.
