And are you sending a normal text and not a long one or one with emoticons in it for example which can transform a normal text into a MMS which costs to send and mobile data needs to be on.
Other factors to check is if you or the recipient of the text has accidentally added each other to any text blocking feature or is this happening to anyone your trying to text.
Can you also check in your myvodafone for any bars @Jessjones1
If all looks ok then first try a soft reboot by turning the phone Off and On and as a process of elimination can you try your sim card in another phone and then try to send a text.
