vodafone wallet app says my xperia E5 nfc enabled phone is not nfc enabled

I bought a new phone on friday it was a nokia 3 and transferred my number to the sim but could not setup the wallet app, went back to store yesterday and they gave me a NFC sim and transferred my number to that one, the wallet app loaded but said mty saved cards did not work because the phone is not NFC enabled, after checking the nokia 3 is not on the list of phones that supports the wallet app, I went back to the store today and was able to get a refund for the phone and got an xperia E5 which is on the supported list, after getting home I checked the wallet app and it says this is not NFC enabled even though it is, what can I do to fix this?

@yokelabductee - Please check that your phone is running the latest version of software (you can do this in the ‘about’ section, in your phone settings).
