So I had a contract with Vodafone which was cancelled Feb 2020, however the cancellation was never executed on Vodafones end. I then started receiving debt letters from Ardent to my grandparents house (previous address). I called Vodafone who found my cancellation conversation and said it was their error, I owed no money and shut down the account.
Ardent then continued to chase me, as well as Vodafone issuing a default and now Ardent threatening a second default and to send people to my elderly grandparents address.
I rang Vodafone again who insisted that the account was closed, nothing was owed, but a month later here I am with a ruined credit score whilst trying to get a mortgage and unnecessary stress.
This needs resolving ASAP before I take legal action. Horrendous service, argumentative staff on the phone, being fobbed off from one person to the next and again - added stress for my grandparents. I'm honestly disgusted.

Not a good situation at all @EWIlliamsX
If the debt collection agency contact you and oryou contact them tell them you are challenging / disputing the monies owed.
Now please contact the Vodafone Social Media Teams via Contact-us-for-account-specific-queries as they have a dedicated Credit File Specialist Team who can investigate this and look at the default too.
I appreciate from my own personal experiences how damaging a default can be.
6 years is a long time to be affected.

I wish you all the best with this situation.
